Ok, I've got a max of £300 to spend on a TV, well I would like to spend around the £250 mark but if the TV is nice I'll go upto £300. anyway I'm after a new TV to replace my old CRT TV, but the problem is, although I am good when it comes to tech, knowing which TV is best for me. I use my TV for watching films on my Xbox 360 and also gaming on my xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii, other then that, I hardly ever use it. Anyone got any suggestions?

My current TV is a 22inch TV, I think, I got it off my grandad who doesn't know the specs for the TV.

  1. If you don't watch the BBC , and you just use your TV for games and movies , I would purchase a torpedo projection unit.

You can project a wall size image , on an old 16 mm projector, or a wall that is painted white.  It's a great alternative.

  2. i always go for one that works!!!!

  3. Well, I’m a throwback. I love old tube CTR tvs. According to experts, although they don’t have as high a resolution or aren’t as sharp, they’re still incredibly durable. I’m also unusual in that my taste tends to go towards 4:3 ratio. Stuck in the past unfortunately (a part from my PC, which is a 24” widescreen ultrabright). You could get a very good widescreen CRT for your money rather than a small LCD. I currently own/use a 29” Sony and 21” Philips, the only 2 market leaders for TV as far as I’m concerned. They’ve been very reliable and have a very crisp clear pic & colour definition, especially viewing digital. Games consoles look good without pixelation. Problem with all these new lcd tvs is that they dull, can’t be viewed from different angles and break after about 4 years. Projection Tv's arent much better, if a bulb goes, you might as well buy a new TV. Plasmas probably out of the price range. If you really need HD, try currys, since the dvd market war, they reduced loads of sets
