  1. Consistently keeping your stat set for 78 in the summer and 68 in the winter will assure you of saving money.

  2. 80 degrees in the day time and once the sun goes down 77 degrees!Programmable thermostat all the way saved me $80.00 a month over last year! We live in South Florida no heat just A/C.I see you live in the great white north!

  3. I guess it depends on if you mean the heat or a/c. In my house for the summer time we keep the a/c set at 78 until bed time, and thats central air, but we live in a twin home where the lower level is partially underground, and that stays cold enough on its own. So unless anyone is upstairs I always shut it off on my roommates all the time, lol. Also depends on how cold you get and at what temp you feel comfortable, I like 80 degree weather and my roommates like 60-70, so we compromise on the a/c. For heat, we leave it at 70 and at night around 60, b/c your in bed where its warm.

  4. You might invest in a new thermostat which is adjustable to any temperature from 50 degrees up to 85. We live in a temperate climate where the temperature is set at 68 in the winter. It is lowered to 60-62 during sleeping hours. We always kept it lower but as old folks we were advised not to get the house too cold. So if there is a chill in the air we put on a sweater.

  5. Summer

    80° at work

    78° at home

    off at night

    Winter

    78° at work

    75° at home

    68° at night

Heat avg bill monthly 78.00 winter

a/c avg bill monthly 59.00 summer

  6. We keep our thermometer at 60 degrees pretty much all the time.  We love it to be cold!
