What To Do About Extreme Fear Of Flying?

I'm going from Fayetteville, NC to Sacramento, Ca. We're stopping in Charlotte, Nc and Las Vegas, Nv. I'm soooo nervous about flying. We're leaving Aug 26, 2008. I'm worried about turbulence because it makes me sooo scared.

I was on a flight in Feb. 2008 and the plane flew through a thunderstorm and dropped some feet in mid air while approaching Atlanta, Ga. Plus the turbulence was AWFUL (severe) yet kinda fun in a way, but I dont want a repeat.

With tropical storm Fay in the area will it affect our flights? I know I'll take a sedative prior to the Charlotte-Las Vegas flight, but if that doesn't work what can I do to calm myself during turbulence?

just don't worry.airplanes are the safest form of traveling my daughter has been traveling on airplanes every summer i can't help with the turbulence part, cause i don't know what it is so sorry so just calm down ok
