What To Pack For 40 Hour Road Trip?

Me, my family, my friend, and her family (our neighbors) are going on a road trip. We are going to Sesame Place :( and the car ride is 40 hours each way! We have never driven this far without stopping at a hotel one or two nights. I will be sitting next to my friend. We have four seats to ourselves.

My mom is packing all of the stuff like food, pillows, and blankets.

Here is what I have packed for entertainment:

Portable DVD Player (the little kids will probably be using the one in the van)

DVDs (I am bringing about 10 and so is my friend)

PSP and Games

Nintendo DS and Games

Digital Camera

iPod

iPhone

Laptop

Books (8)

20Q

Notebook / Gel Pens / Pencils / Markers / Colored Pencils

Crossword Puzzle Book

Neopet (haha-seriously)

What else could we bring? Things that we could do together? Thanks. We can spend money on the stuff and there's plenty of space to put our stuff under and on our seats.

if there is a snack you particularly like, pack it because 50% chance sais you don't like the snacks your mom brought. you have a lot of good stuff though. maybe you could look up some good truth or dare things cause it will help pass time

saduco is also a fun time taker as well as learning some new tricks such as knitting and croshaing they sell kits to start at most craft stores. another thing to take is hand held massagers for when to much sitting gets to your neck or back. I have driven to Iowa from California and its nice just to site see hope this helps have a fun safe trip.

Bring extra underwear. I know it's not something to do.. but take it from a tenured traveler... you MIGHT have an accident in such a large time bracket. Not exactly #1 or #2... it's just the safe thing to do.

I think you're over-thinking this... your list is well prepared. You're probably going to get tired, so take a nap! Naps are lovely. I know 40 winks won't cover 40 hours, but if your friend is in the backseat with you, take the time to talk! You can fill hours and hours with an amiable companion..

Growing up with road trips, I mainly have always been about sleeping, music and reading.  Extra Batteries. You  can never have enough, any and all chargers for electronics. I always packed a pair of sneakers and then wore sandals, one for  a quick slip on and the other in case of rain. Something to drink. Gum.  Just anything to keep sanity.
