When you go to the toy isle look on the box and it will tell you if it is age appropreate or not. thats how i usually do it any way. I like to buy age appropreate learning toys made by leap frog. they have a wide variety for boyh boy and girl.

A toy Monster truck that he can push around the floor and some small sports balls he can play with ........ stuff will help develop their hand and eye coordination ........ = )

something that isnt electronic and that isnt small enough to swallow. toy cars are usually not bad. when he gets a bit older around 4 or 5 get him disney movies and action figures.

You can get him stuffed animals.  One other Yahoo Answers user said not to get him anything electronic.  You don't want to do that because it will be too difficult for a two-year-old to figure out.  You can also go to a Toys R Us in your area and find something there.  Be sure to check on the boxes of the toys that you look at to make sure they say they are for a child one year old or older.
