I would like to move to a southern state with around 15,000 for population give or take. With lots of recreation activities. Not quite city but not quite country. I have a four year old so I want to keep her best interests in mind. I still want to have fun to on adult level. But my boyfriend is a recovering alcoholic so that a factor as well.I really like the water. It just dosen't seem right if I cant go fishing, canoeing, etc. Thanks, Kayla

  1. With the way the country is now is there one? Once Obama becomes president - move to Alabama!

  2. south texas, san antonio, or central texas austin or wimberly

  3. If such a place existed then everyone would be moving there, and the population would soar and all of those qualities would disappear. Sorry, but that type of place is a fantasy.

  4. Ky has the most navigable miles of water in the US

  5. Carrboro, NC

Lived there, loved it. It has one of the best public school systems in the country. Not an expensive place to live compared to other places in the US. Plenty of outdoor activities, the town is very bike accessible and outdoor oriented. There are lakes and rivers nearby for fishing, canoeing and kayaking. The town is contemporary and "with it" but still very family oriented. You're right next to the University of North Carolina so there is still plenty to do culturally. Carrboro and neighboring Chapel Hill have great restaurants also. There is also amazing access to quality supermarkets and Carrboro itself has one of the best coops you'll ever see. Check it out and good luck to you!

** all good except for allergies, best of luck on that one..suffer badly also. think the only place in the US good for that would be in the desert Southwest. Like Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico.

  6. Sounds like Arizona, but alas Arizona's population is about 6.4 million.

  7. I'd say Illinois, but that's because I live here (lol). I would suggest researching individual cities and towns and picking the best one for you.

  8. The place you are describing is not in the US. That is what my country, Greece, is like. Also in France, in Bretagne, you can find such places.
