Question:

What UK Driving Test Requirements?

Hi, I'm 14 and I have been driving since I was like 3 (obviously on Dads lap till I could reach the pedals), and my sister has just passed her test and I'm even better than her, although ive heard you have to take lessons first before the test even though I know not only how to drive, but all the road signs, markings, all the rules etc....

But would I still pointlessly have to take driving lessons when I'm 17 before my test / would I not be applicable to take a test without proof of lessons?

  1. Unless it has changed since I took my test, you don't have to take lessons or provide proof that you have taken lessons. You can just say that a family member gave you lessons.

You could even just have a couple of lessons with an instructor before your test as they will know the test inside out and will tell you what to expect. Many driving instructors also know the route you will take on the test, so they will take you around the route so that you can get to know the roads in that area.

    Good luck with the test.
