What US city has good public transport?

Question

that also has warm weather? I live in a cold city (tonights low will be 22,tomorrows high is forecast to be 47). I retired a couple months ago and can now move wherever I want. There are many factors which will help me decide where to live/work next. I do drive but would like to make driving an exception rather than a daily activity. Whats your opinion?

Philadelphia has great public transportation. There is a bus or train to take you wherever you need to go.

Houston TX is starting to have more and more public transport systems.  Dallas TX is also pretty good.

i lived in sacamento calif for 3 years  they have the greatest public transportation system i seen anywhere except maybe sanfransisco which be real expensive to live their ..  sacramento has them electric  trains tha conect to all parts of sacramento and sacramento county  AND CAN GET U NEARLY ANYWHERE ,,   CHECK ONLINE  THE OTHER PLACES U MAY WANT TO LIVE ,, IT GET COLD FOR A BREIF TIME IN SACARAMENTO,,  it has beautiful parks too. great thrift stores that have great bargains ,,.... mj

It is the NET-City, -- always soothing temp and under your control, all transport is Public, though you can sometime drive.You can work whenever and whatever you like, the only problem is the city is not only a US city.

nyc,seattle,charlotte is getting better,dc,balt,central jersey(near nyc),boston is so so,   nyc and central jersey is by far the best. atl is not bad either and warm

It's not the warmest climate on the planet--average winter temp is in the high 50s-low60s--but the San Francisco Bay area has the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) system which is kind of like the New York subways, only above ground.

New York city and Washington DC are the only two cities with good public transport.  San Francisco is decent.  Los Angeles is all right too for certain purposes, but driving is still predominant.

I would say san francisco calfornia has gret transportation. but it can be cold.

San Diego has great public transportation, with the trolley, buses, and taxi cabs.  And the Metro lInk ( or whatever its called) linking LA and SD.

New York is the only US city that has real public transport, at least in comparison to what is considered good public transport in Europe.

Most other big cities have some sort of public transportation systems - some are decent, some are so-so, but neither one comes close to New York system and they all usually have very limited coverage. San Francisco arguably has the next best thing. Boston, DC and Chicago are ok.

San Francisco if you want my opinion. They have the worlds only functioning historic landmark. The streetcar trolleys'. They are safe and really interesting.
