What Walt Disney World (Orlando) Restaurant should I make reservations at prior to going down there?

Is there any special places that my husband and I should eat at on our honeymoon? I've been to the scifi dine in and the 50's prime time cafe, but being it's his first Disney trip I want to take him to a great and unique Disney restaurant.

I highly recommend the Liberty Tree Tavern in the Magic Kingdom. It is a character dinner, but unlike most other character dinners, it is not a buffet. The characters come right to your table. The Brown Derby in MGM (now called Disney Hollywood Studios) was good as well.

I think the Sci-Fi is a great place to take your husband to even though you've already been there. Le Cellier in the world showcase in Epcot is supossed to be a real adult restaurant with wonderful food, you defninitley need a reservation for this.

There have been a lot of great suggestions here so I won't repeat them. What I will add that I haven't seen is this very important piece of advice: Make your reservations AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Reservations at Cinderella's Royal Table and the Chef's Table at Victoria & Albert's especially should be made at exactly 7AM on the 180th day before your arrival. This means that if you will be be getting there before 18 February, 2009 you may have already missed out on these two options. Other responders have mentioned the irreplaceable allears.net site; they have a page with advice on how to shave off the seconds that can make the difference in getting a reservation at these events. It is referenced as my source below. That page also links to a calculator so you can figure out exactly when you can call for reservations.

Unfortunately, a lot of the recommendations from other answerers aren't necessarily "unique", especially since you're talking about your honeymoon!

First of all -- congrats!  My wife and I honeymooned at Disney World last June and loved it.

Ok, here's my list of suggestions (which, for the most part, are less kid-oriented):

Epcot

France

Chefs de France

lots of good food to choose from, and the service is excellent.  most seats look out into Epcot, so the views are very nice

Morocco

Restaurant Marrakesh

we love this place (and not just for the bellydancer)

Italy

very nice, food is better than regular italian stuff...

Mexico

San Angel Inn

the food is so-so, but try to get a table by the water -- you can look out over the ride!  it's very nice...

Living Seas (The Seas with Nemo and Friends)

Coral Reef

most tables have an excellent view through glass that looks out into their gigantic aquarium!

Magic Kingdom

Cinderella's Royal Table

nothing beats dining inside the castle!  try to get a late time, so you can catch the fireworks!

Hollywood Studios

Brown Derby

one of the absolute best dining experiences -- the service and food are top-notch!

I'll try to think of a few more...

I went to the Rainforest Cafe (Disney has 2 locations in Orlando - 1 in Downtown Disney and the other is at Animal Kingdom....  Or depending on what kind of food you like, visit one of the restaurants in Epcot that deals with the countries.  I know they have 1 for Mexico, 1 for Italy, 1 for Japan and so on.

Make a reservation for every restaurant you plan to visit. Call 407-WDW-DINE.

There are many great restaurants all around Disney property. Not only at the theme parks, but also at the resorts and Downtown Disney.

If you are interested in Character meals, I recommend: Cinderella's Royal Table (inside the castle), and Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort. Here's a link with all the character meals they have. http://allears.net/din/cb.htm

You will love this, dinner in Ohana at the Polynessian Resort, at night around the time Wishes is on (fireworks at Magic Kingdom). You see the castle, the fireworks and they play the music at the restaurant.

I would recommend Le Cellier at Epcot. It's appropriate for a honeymoon, and their pretzel bread sticks with cheese dip and fillet mignon is to die for!

Depending on your budget, there are many that are great. Try Jiko's at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. It's wonderful but pricey. For a cheaper but similar food style, Boma is the next best. Also at the Lodge, it's a buffet with a fantastic choice and alot cheaper.

Ohanas' at the Polynesian Resort is served family style and all you can eat. It's Hawaiian type food and if you go at fireworks time, you can see them from the restaurant while you eat. It's moderately priced.

Since it's your honeymoon, The California Grill on the top floor of the Contemporary Hotel offers fantastic views as well as food but quite pricey.

At the Grand Floridian the 1900 Park Faire is great buffet.  If you are foodies, Victoria & Albert's is worth every penny.

Jiko and Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge is excellent and have some great African wines.

Within Epcot Le Cellier Steakhouse in Canada is wonderful.  The refurbished Mitsukoshi is very good as well.  The Living Seas restaurant is great if you enjoy seafood and the Rose and Crown Grill is excellent as well.

Something fun to do at Epcot is to "eat around the world."  There are some great snacks to be had in each country.  Perhaps split an item in each country...a funnel cake in America, a crepe in France, a gelato in Italy...lots of fun.

Within Disney Hollywood Studios, the Brown Derby is delicious.

I think Le Cellier Steakhouse at the World Showcase in Epcot is supposed to be a very good restaurant.  You can always try the Hoop-De-Doo Review if you want a unique "Disney experience" at the Fort Wilderness Campground.

Try "The Brown Derby". It's in MGM or as they call it now "Disney's Hollywood Studios". It's a semi casual restaurant with great food, especially deserts. Also you should go to Morocco or Japan. If you have time later in the trip, go back to the 50's prime time cafe. It's a great experience every time! I hope you have a magical honeymoon at Disney World!
