Question:

What Was The Greatest College Football Game Ever

I love Auburn so it would seem that I would pick the 2004 Auburn-LSU or the 2005 Auburn-Georgia. But going by true college personnel, everyone should say the 2005 BCS National Championship Game(although the game was actually played in 2006) Texas vs. USC. Even USC fans must admit they enjoyed the classic matchup. USC played the perfect game(but I'm sure they wish Reggie Bush wouldn't have tried that lateral toss.) Texas just had more heart to defeat probably the greatest college team in NCAA history. Two Heisman winners playing the most difficult and most exciting positions in the game on the same team. One man proving it should've been on opposite teams. A game that ended a Dynasty, cemented a Legacy, and made a Legend. Does anyone know a game that tops that? If you do, let me know. (USC is still good, but they used to seem unbeatable. Texas saved the college football world, but Stanford just made USC look mortal.)

  1. Hands down.....Boston College vs Miami - 1984.  Flutie to Phelan hail mary....BC wins 47-45.

  2. Boise State over Oklahoma in a BCS game in 2007.  It could not have been a more dramatic finish if it was a movie, then the star running back proposed to the captain of the cheerleading squad in the end zone after scoring the winning touchdown in overtime.  Are you kidding me?!?!?

  3. its NCAA football 09 of course then once NCAA football 2010 comes out that would be the BEST

  4. Quite naturally I agree with your assessment of the 2005 BCS Championship game.

  5. 1987 Fiesta Bowl.

    Penn State vs. Miami.

That game made college football what it is today.  For better or for worse.

  6. Rose bowl USC vs TEXAS vince young baby..

  7. The 1969 Michigan OSU game because it was a big upset and Hayes deemed his team unbeatable and it sent Michigan to the Rose Bowl.

  8. 1996 Fiesta Bowl Nebraska Trounced Florida Gators

  9. The double overtime game in 2003 was exciting, and a OSU was a much bigger underdog than Texas. Also, that Miami team had won more games in a row than USC. They were coming off an undefeated, undisputed national championship, and their win streak was over 3 seasons. The Boise State, Oklahoma game was great. The Flutie game was great, but if we are going that far back, I would take the Cal/Stanford game, with that kick return. People forget that John Elway led stanford to the lead, and needed to convert a 4th and 20 to do it.

Dude below me, how about 68, "Because we couldn't go for 3" I think those two years cemented OSU/Michigan as the greatest rivalry ever.

  10. Without a doubt- The 2003 Fiesta Bowl- Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Miami Hurricanes--This was supposed to be a blowout with Miami being the victors but what we got was a game that not even the best of fans could have dreamed.  It was a storybook ending to Ohio States season that ended with the most wins for an undefeated team ever- 14-0.  The final score of the game was OSU-31 , Miami-24...of course after the 2 overtimes!! This is my pick for the best college game ever-
