All the islands are not friendly. I know it's not a Western island, but Curacao a European island was beautiful but less than friendly. This island is owned by the Netherlands.

  1. Well Amy, the Dominican Republic is generally very friendly with all the visitors and in particular the people from USA. So don't worry with visiting us we will welcome you with open arms.

    Hope this helped you Amy.

  2. The AmeriKans bring it on theirselves by being rude and arrogant.  I'm an AmeriKan who has not lived in the U.S. 12 months out of any year for the past 30 years and I am constantly amazed at just how IGNORANT and RUDE the typical AmeriKan is.

I have even been on the receiving end... when some AmeriKan tourist who can't speak the local language... and very few  do... all they can do is talk AmeriKan and they think if they SHOUT IN YOUR FACE then you will immediately understand AmeriKan.  I can't count the times someone has come up right in my face and yelled CAN YOU SPEAK ENGLISH... and I shout back YES... I CAN EVEN TALK AMERIKAN

They all have an attitude that the people elsewhere in the world... ESPECIALLY the Caribbean Islands... MUST have the AmeriKan dollar to survive and they can abuse you and be rude and impolite because they are PAYING for the privilege.

I call them TOURONS... as in TOURIST MORONS... and I stay as far away from the tourist areas as I can get during the season.

  3. all of them

  4. Grand Cayman Islands like Americans and is a safe island. Cozumel is also friendly to Americans and I never heard of any complaints about American being robbed or killed in Cozumel.

I think the majority of Jamaicans appreciate the American tourists but there is more crime on this island because there is more poverty.

There is a difference in island culture compared to the USA. We can come off as rude. I think simply things like greeting the locals before asking a question or requesting something we forget to be considerate and show good manners. "Good Morning" "Good Afternoon" and "Good Evening" is a sign of good manners to many islanders. It really makes a difference in how they respond back to visitors.
