Question:

What/Where are some affordable hotels in Sydney that allow pets?

Cheap in price but not in quality if you know what I mean? And the most important thing is being able to take my pets (a hand-raised bird in a cage & a house rabbit in a travel cage, both immaculately clean and 100% toilet trained and experienced travellers)... Any suggestions? I want to be able to go to the harbour and the zoo and the museums etc, etc, so as close to central as $$$ & circumstance allow...

  1. There are a couple that officially do this, that you can easily book online through http://www.cheaperthanhotels.com.au/Aust...

    They are :

Glenferrie Lodge in North Sydney with Lastminute Rates Pets are allowed at this property, provided they are domesticated and are under 20kg - in other words don't bring the pet python or African elephant !!  A charge of A$30.00 per pet is required  per night and needs to be paid on arrival .

    http://www.cheaperthanhotels.com.au/Aust...   or http://www.glenferrielodge.com/

To be on the safe side you may need to call them in advance - but booking direct may cost you more.

Annam Suites Cascata with Lastminute Rates described as Pet friendly. http://www.cheaperthanhotels.com.au/Aust...

However, this hotel is a fair distacne from the zoo.

The closest area for alternatives is North Sydney : http://www.cheaperthanhotels.com.au/Aust...

  2. Glenferrie Lodge in Kirribilli is pet friendly and cheap. Haven't stayed there myself but a friend has and he said it was OK. I think they charge extra for the animals.

Check Wotif for others if you're travelling within a month.
