What Will Start The End, Then What Will Mark The End Of Mankind?

Honest question here. Please no religion final days c**p. Just cover man-made problems that will end mankind. For me, I give humans about another 200 years. I think the fact that humans are going crazy with having kids; having 5, 6, 7, ect kids. Is already having a huge impact on mankind. This is the first part of the problem. Since people don't realize how much of an impact each new person has on this Planet, they don't really think about having just a kid or two and being happy with that. Let's say the Earth swells to 12 Billion people? That is most likely the breaking point. There isn't enough food for that many people. Their isn't enough plants and plankton to create that much oxygen for that many people. Not to mention the amount of animals people eat, would consume even more resources. So if I had to pick 1 thing that is going to be the end of mankind, it will be overpopulation. What do you think? War, famine, plaque.Technically any of those could also be caused by overpopulation

  1. my mother had 2 children. my sister doesn't want kids and i have 1 baby girl. i can't afford anymore children. i dont know if i would want anymore. raising 1 baby girl is tough enough thank you very much!

it seems quite stupid that so many want to have lots and lots of kids. i know people with 4 kids. so if those 4 kids have 4 kids, and 4 more kids you get the point. i think war will end up killing mankind. having 10 billion people on earth will only cause more problems when that war cuts of food supplies. you can not change the world with your words. people are going to keep popping out 10 kids no matter what. and as long  as the government keeps helping feed them there will be no end in sight. i give mankind 50 years of life left. then it will be another life forms chance at ruling what is left of this planet. that's like spending years tearing apart a house just so you can give it to someone else and make them try to repair it. impossible..

  2. not only are people born everyday, but people die everyday as well. i think the end of mankind will be when the hole in the ozone rips even futher and turns us into crispy critters!

  3. Overpopulation can be countered if only the church don't interfere on what the government's program on birth control. Famine will be be one of the causes of mankind's end, second only to global warming. Mankind will not last more than a hundred  years if we don't do something about these.

Save our Mother Nature...and save the world!

  4. Availability of natural resources (or lack thereof) will be the direct consequence of overpopulation, to be specific. We simply wont have enough energy to provide for a segment of the population, but mind you, all of civilization has always maintained the very rich and the very poor, and if food and energy is the scarce commodity in the future that it is now, we, the rich (as long as you're in America, you're richer than anyone else), will simply ignore the death and decay of the poor and continue to find new and novel ways to rape the world of even more natural resources; and if the population ever goes down, maybe renewable resources will power a new generation of greedy capitalists (most likely NOT Americans.... *sob*)

  5. The Earth is large enough to give everyone on the planet 5 acres of land to live on.  The population density of the planet is less than the population density of New Jersey.

Clearly the planet could easily hold 30 billion or more.  It's just that huge numbers are hard for people to grasp.

  6. Actually they are expecting population to level off at around 10 billion and then decline.

There's a reason parents are socially biased to have lots of kids.  They come from poor countries, where kids are more likely to die, and there's no social safety net, so parents need surviving kids to take care of them in their old age... so they have more kids.

As they get past the poverty, they have fewer kids.  In wealthy Europe, the opposite is happening, countries are actually worried about population decline.

The planet couldn't handle 1 billion people if it wasn't for humans' skill at shaping the earth to support us.  There's probably an upper limit but it's way more than 10 billion.  The fact is, we're not bacteria, we have brains - and we can foresee and head off our own doom.  China managed their population growth.  Give humans some credit.
