  1. Warm clothes.. Seriously, it gets cold in Sydney..

Its already cold now.. It can reach 2 degrees in winter..

But some days are warmer than others.. So make sure you have  clothes for days that are a bit warmer.. But bring plenty of warm clothes.

  2. It will be cold so warm casual clothes more dressy for going out.

We are pretty casual and layed back here.

  3. Jeans and a tshirt or a lightweight long sleeve top for the day and throw a jacket on for night.

I suggest packing a couple of jeans, black pants, tshirts, dressy tops, casual jackets, a cardy, etc.. But don't bring a thick winter jacket, anything thicker then denim will be too hot.

  4. Winter in Sydney is like spring in London.

    Seriously.

A long sleeved shirt is all you need during the day and during the night take a light jacket or jumper. long pants will do fine, skirts will be ok too, perhpas with pantyhose or stocking during the evening. other than that, there's not much more you need to wear.

the coldest it gets is around 8 degrees celcius, but in the day it can be around 20 degrees celcius, so you have nothing to worry about.

also depending from where you're from, you may have a higher/lower tolerance to the cold.

Fashion wise vests, blazers, high waisted things, it's kind of office-y at the moment. Ankle boots are popular as are belts.

Then again, most people are still donning a tee shirt and jeans during winter, it really isn't very cold

  5. In Sydney it will usually be around 17-20 degrees celcius during the day. Most days I just end up wearing jeans, tshirt and a jumper. We're pretty layed back but if you want something more dressy then maybe like a dress, stockings and a coat or something. Depending on where you're from you might find the weather really hot or really cold.

  6. It can be quite cold during the day, but sometimes can be sunny and nice - anywhere between 15 and 20 celsius. Night time can be down to 8 or 9 celsius, lower in the far western suburbs, even down to -1 celsius.

The thing about Sydney is the houses aren't built for cold weather, so if the temperature doesn't sound too bad, you actually feel freezing because of the lack of proper insulation in the houses.

Take a warm jacket and some warm jumpers. Warm socks for night-time will help as well.

Anyway, if you don't take the right clothes, you can always buy a souvenir jacket while you're there  :)

You wont need a thick, northern hemisphere winter jacket, you'll sweat in one of those.

  7. You can get the occasional frost at night, daytime mostly in the 'teens Celcius.

Jeans, t-shirts, jumper or jacket, be prepared for maybe some rain. Bit dressier for night.

  8. Wear your Long Johns.  It'll be cold.
