Now that we know who the potential playoff teams are ( Red Sox, Rays, Yankees, Twins, White Sox, Angels, Rangers, Mets, Phillies, Marlins, Cardinals, Cubs, Brewers, Astros, D-backs, and Dodgers)

what N.L and A.L team would have the country buzzing?

  1. cubs vs rays

because two perenial losers will always attract fans because america loves underdogs.

if the mets make it and the sox (either sox team) no one on the west coast will bother watching and being as there's 35 million people in cali ALONE..ya know...

I think those to long standing losing teams will attract a lot of attention because people will want to see a ws game at wriggly...and that's the only reason why.

  2. Tampa Rays vs. Chicago Cubs

  3. Angels/Devil Rays VS. Cubs/Dodgers

  4. angels and mets

    or

    angels and d-bags

  5. Cubs vs Yankees would get everybody watching.

    Mets vs Red Sox also

    Cubs vs Red Sox

Dodgers vs Yankees for their history

    Marlins vs Yankees rematch

  6. all chicago match up will be the topper of tops

  7. BREWERS VS TWINS

  8. cubs vs. white sox.just think about it 100 years vs. future president's (barack obama) hometown.OR mets vs. yanks.last year at she and yankee stadium.there is no better way in end it like that.

  9. Cubs and Redsox.

It is very hard to make the entire country to watch any match up. You can probably try to as many people involved as possible. Red Sox and Cubs have the most fans so that match up should have the most impact.

  10. Cubs/Yankees. Yankees/L.A

  11. Before I answer your question, why the heck would you put the Rangers as a playoff potential team.....you forgot the Blue Jays they're catching on with alot of important games with the Red Sox, Rays, and Yankees.

to answer your question, the White Sox and Cubs

  12. the Cubs and anybody.....if the lovable losers actually make it to the series Fox will possibly have the highest ratings ever.

Personally I would like to see cubs-rays, but have a feeling it is gonna be cubs and angels

  13. ok look i predict right now that the yankees rangers marlins and astros arent makin the play offs. o of whats left id predict a cubs rays or a mets angels would be good for the country. i am a met fan by the way.

  14. white sox vs cubs.

it would b crazy here in chicago.

  15. Yankees Dodgers would be intriguing on several levels.

    First, there's that NY/LA thing

Then, an east coast/west coast thing

    Yankee/Dodger history

    The Torre story

Even Manny.  Yankee killer in a new home

Some of these would work in a Boston-LA match up.  I would like to see that more.

  16. Red Sox vs. Cubs. two of the biggest fan bases in baseball. that would be a great match up!

if it was in 2004 i think everyone would watch because neither of them had won.

  17. cubs white sox either way theres going to be a riot

  18. The perennial cellar-dweller Rays vs. the "cursed" Cubs

  19. Cubs vs. Red Sox. the cubs because everyone would want to see them finally break the curse (and what better year to do that than on the 100th anniversary of their last championship?) and also because there are millions of bandwagon red sox fans in this country- they may even be giving the bandwagon yankees fans a run for their money. but i think it's safe to say there will be no pinstripes in the WS this year!! hahahaha. (Im a mets fan BTW- makes me happy to see the cross town rivals suffer HAHAHAHA)

  20. None because not everyone is interested in baseball. plus guys get mad if there team doesn't make it so they wont watch it.

  21. Tampa Bay vs. Cubs....just becuse of how unexpected it was before the season that these 2 teams would be so good

  22. Cubs Vs.  just about anyone.

mostly Cubs V. Yankees or Redsox

  23. Brooklyn err Los Angelos Dodgers and the NY Yankees.

    NY-LA in just about anything.

    Enjoy!

  24. Realistically, it's Yankees vs. Dodgers. Two legendary franchises that play in the country's top two media markets and both teams have large fan bases outside of their home markets.

I don't think you'll have the entire country watching, but you'll have a LOT of people watching. The East Coast will watch, the West Coast will watch. Yankees fans will watch. Yankee haters will watch. Dodger fans will watch. Dodger haters will watch. (And don't deny you will, Angels and Giants fans.)

Taking away any transcendent star player, officials in every major sports league have said they'd love to have a New York team take on an L.A. team in their championship because those two cities are the biggest and have the most people.
