  2. I don't think it's a good idea to use a bedroom theme, especially at the age of 12. I say this because in a couple years, you're going to have very different tastes and you're changing quickly. Using a theme like animals or spaceships will make it seem childish and will be fun for a couple months or a year, but what 15 year old wants to have an animal themed room when they're trying to seem cool with their friends? I think it would be better to use a color scheme. It will tie the room together the same way a themed room would, but without being kitschy. If your favorite color is green, do mostly green with some white and brown. Or maybe you like blue. Choose the things you like in one or two colors and then you won't get tired of them.

  3. Pick a hobby you enjoy perhaps.  Trains, skateboards, snowboards, computers, wildlife, fishing, sports or just do the wild color thing so you can change it as you grow.  Pick whatever excites you.

  4. Yeah, be careful about themes at this age. He will change a lot over the next few years. Just pick something masculine and for now add touches that appeal to him - super heroes, sports, cars - whatever. When my kids were little they put stuff up on the walls and wanted it to stay there forever. When my teen got 13, 14, 15 - a lot comes down ...

  5. Why don't you ask him what he would like?

It would be a real shame to go through a whole redecorating only to find that it is either considered babyish or weird.

Let him select what he likes.

  6. siorry read it worng, thought it said 2 yr old. i agree with the person below me, no theme

  7. When decorating a teen boy's bedroom the decor you decide upon will depend on the teen in question. But there are a number of different ideas that you can explore and these bedroom decorating ideas for a teenage boys space will hopefully produce a room that they will enjoy.

    Color

It is a good idea to paint the walls of your teen's room in deep or vibrant colours (such as purple or blue) and then use lighter coloured furniture which will provide accent to the walls.

    Wall Art and Shelving

Normally the wall art you should be looking for to decorate a teen boy's room is murals with a sports theme or motor sport theme. Look at very modern shelving in order to display any trophies that they may have on them.

    Bedding

When choosing the bedding for your teen boys bedroom is to go with the flow and use that which links in to the overall theme of the room.

For example if you teens room is based on a surf theme then you could paint the walls in an ocean blue colour and then cover them with surf and surfer murals. There are plenty of places where you can purchase bedding that will perfectly match the theme that they have.

Or why not go for a solid colour theme to the room and use other colours in small amounts which will enhance the overall design of the room.

    Study Area

When decorating your teen's bedroom include an area for them to study. Each teen will have a different way in which they study and there are many types of different tables available which will suit your particular teens study needs.

Lastly but by no means least, when you are looking at bedroom decorating ideas for teenage boys then you should wherever possible involve them in the whole process. You should allow them to have a say as to what colours, theme and designs they want included in the decorating as well as what kind of furniture they would like to have.

I hope this was of some help!

    Good Luck,  ;-)

  8. Get yourself a new set of linens for your bed, a new duvet is a great place to start. Pick something with about 5 colors in it, but no pictures. Then get a paint that coordinates with that duvet and repaint your room. You will quickly outgrow a theme (even a sports theme), especially as you become a teenager. Keep it simple, that way as you grow the room can change with you.
