  2. You can't get a good answer here, because each neighborhood is different on this.

    At first, tell the parents, "I'm fine with whatever you want to pay me." Almost all of them will be impressed, and will give you a fair rate. In a short period of time, you'll know who the cheapskates are!

    no more or no less. if they can't pay that then ill be damed if they can find another babysitter.

  4. I think that you should let your employer (the person that you're babysitting for) decide. They may pay you more than what you're expecting. If they ask you what you think it should be, then I'd go with $4.00 an hour. I believe that's the normal rate.
