  1. In times of sadness comfort foods are the way to go.  Think casseroles.  Broccoli rice casserole (with or without chicken) or a big dish of homemade mac n cheese would be good.

  2. I always take a plain angel food cake. There are those who do not want fats so this dessert suits them very well. The mixes cost about a dollar so the cost is very minimal.

My other suggestion is one of those nice veggie or fruit platters from the deli department in the grocery stores. They come with dips. More expense, but very nice.

Put cakes on cardboard "plates" and the deli platters also don't have to be returned or worried over. Casserole dishes and crock pots do have to be concerned about by someone.

  3. Cheese and chackers.....Sometimes people dont want to eat much after a funeral. So this is light and every one enjoys cheese and chackers

  4. Meat and cheese trays are also good.  Bread to go with it is a nice touch.  It's something simple that people can snack on throughout the day.
