What a good , cheap canoe rack for a truck?

You need two upright  poles with a cross bar to make the back support. You need a piece of solid foam to cover the truck cab roof. A rope or strap through the cab and over the roof will hold the canoe at its bow. The same at the stern, the inverted canoe will be anchored to that cross bar with another rope or strap. Really cheap? Slide the canoe onto the truck 's back end, secure it, hang a red flag at its stern!

Stick two scrap 2x4's in the slots in the bed rails. then nail another one to connect the two. Put a towel or blanket overthe cab, lay the canoe on top and tie it to the truck bummpers.  

Make sure and honk you dukes of hazard car horn and wave at your new friend as you drive through town!
