I'm going to go fishing for the first time since childhood. Where is a good website that will help me identify the local fish?

  1. the states dnr web page

  2. if your going freshwater fishing and your 16 or older you need a license. If your going salt water fishing you do not need a license but you have to make sure the fish are the right size. there are links for regulations and salt water and fresh water species profiles.

  3. Try this site, it even has a fishing forecast that is updated weekly!

    and...

  4. try Amazon - for a good book on fresh water fish of North America - then go to whatever state you are fishing in - go to the dept of fish and game for that state - they will know.

If it's W. Mass - hit me up for any info - grew up there and have many friends/family still living there...
