Question:

What about Brock Lesnar?

Personally I think he's got a lot to learn. A little overrated at this point. He's got to get more well rounded. He just looked good last night because he was fighting a guy who didnt have the tools to exploit his weaknesses. I disagree with this columnist who believes Lesnar will someday have a champions belt around his waist in the UFC. Do you think he will be champ? What do you think he is capable of right now?

  1. Anything's possible-remember, this is only his 3rd fight, and for him to beat a guy like Herring is pretty remarkable.  He definitely still has a lot to learn, he can also use some of that humble pie, maybe the rock has some left over for him.  Assuming he only gets better from this point on, and given his size, strength and wrestling ability, I'd much rather fight Bob Sapp and Kimbo in a handicap match.

  2. I do believe that Les will be UFC champ one day. I feel he needs about three more wins and he's gettin' his chance. I think Lesnar's next opponent will be Kongo and that's probably gonna be a nice fight where I see Les dominating with his wrestling.

  3. Lesnar wins two more fights and he will get his title shot.  Yes, he will be champ of the UFC.  I don't seen him making any 'foolish amatuer' mistakes in the future.  He left his fight last night with barely a scratch.  Mark Coleman was wise to pull out of this fight.  Lesnar didn't finish the fight last night because he didn;t want to.  He got in his full 15 minutes of ring time.

  4. He reminds me a whole lot of Mark Kerr.  He's probably the strongest heavyweight.  I don't think he'd do real well against one of the Emelianenko or Noguiera brothers, or Josh Barnett, but I think he'd be pretty evenly matched with Arlovski, Silva, Monson, Gonzaga, and Crocop.  He might have a chance against Couture.

  5. I agree that it's important to remember that it's only his third mma fight; did anyone see couture, or chuck liddell, or matt hughes 3rd fight?

did they all reflect the skill and ability they would later develop with more time in the cage?

the difference with brock is he's getting much more attention that most fighter's get so early in his career, simply because he's "Brock Lesner" true, he didn't earn all this attention by fighting in the cage, as some guys did, but he did earn the fame he has by being successful in other arenas

he certainly has weaknesses, but the fact is, Heath Herring is absolutely no pushover, and the fact that brock beat his behind for three full rounds says a lot about his potential

  6. I think he is capable of being a champ. You have to realize this is only his third fight and he is inexperienced. He will get better as time goes on. He does have a lot to learn, but that will come with time and more fights.
