  1. Bryan isn't terribly small, but is not a major city either. You should consider doing some on line research about the size, look at maps, businesses, etc.  Bryan and College Station are two separate cities that run into each other. Unless you see the sign telling you that you are "now in Bryan" or "now in College Station" you won't realize it's two cities. College Station is the home of a major university. Therefore there are many activities that are available involving the university. (sports, cultural events, family activities, etc.) There are parks, a nice mall, good restaurants, available housing, and much more. It's the best of both worlds, in some aspects. You have opportunities and things to do, yet you are in a smaller place where people are friendly and the pace can be relaxing. (unless you happen to get out on a game day weekend with everyone shows up to town)

  2. It is farmer town. Lower income.

  3. I consider Bryan to be the poorer, more run down, ugly sister of College Station. Some parts aren't bad, but if given the choice I'd live in College Station.

I lived in Bryan in '84 and '85 while going to Blinn and A&M. It hasn't changed much. College Station, on the other hand, has boomed.

  4. I like San Marcos better,.

  5. It is a college town. It is near Texas A&M University.

It is kind of like a small town, but with a large school.

The weather is hot in the summer, but not too cold in the winter.

The people are friendly and nice.

There are things to do and you should get along fine.

  6. Excellent place to live and work. It's small but not too small. You still have access to a lot of great shopping in the area with College Station next door. It's a college town to an extent, the ones that don't housing for A&M usually live there since it will be a little cheaper.
