  1. Oxygen is not a greenhouse gas... It doesn't trap the heat like CO2 or Methane do.

Even if we stopped all of our releasing of CO2 into the atmosphere today it would take years for the levels of CO2 to stabilize if not go down.

In fact the more oxygen we have would probably be more conducive to life, as the dinosaurs only emerged once the levels of oxygen passed a certain point, and the ozone layer (O3) became thick enough to block out a lot of harmful solar radiation.

  2. I think you're partially confusing CO2 (Carbon Dioxide, which plants breath in) with CO (Carbon Monoxide, which can kill you if trapped in a closed garage)  But I'm not positive.

  3. You are right about where does oxygen come from.  It comes from plants.  Please consider the results of "NASA's Clean Air Plant Study" as a means cleaning our environment.

"Common indoor plants may provide a valuable weapon in the fight against rising levels of indoor air pollution. Those plants in your office or home are not only decorative, but NASA scientists are finding them to be surprisingly useful in absorbing potentially harmful gases and cleaning the air inside modern buildings."

"NASA research has consistently shown that living, green and flowering plants can remove several toxic chemicals from the air in building interiors. You can use plants in your home or office to improve the quality of the air to make it a more pleasant place to live and work - where people feel better, perform better, any enjoy life more."

TOP 10 plants most effective in removing: formaldehyde, benzene, and carbon monoxide from the air.

    Common Name - Scientific Name

  4. oxygen is 20% part by air 70% nitrogen and the other 10% is from the other gases it has nothing to do with emmisions

    we need it to live

  5. the composition of the atmoshpere is 80% nitrogen 18% oxygen and 2% everything else including CO2.  an extra fraction of a percent of oygen won't have much effect.  A lot of people think an extra fraction of a percent of CO2 won't have a big effect either.
