What about RCA?

Would a 42" LCD HDTV be any good. I don't hear much about RCA anymore.

RCA quality is pretty much down to the third tier range. The only benefit is that RCA maintains a service and parts operation so it can be fixed, when problems begin.

In a 40"-42" range, for performance and reliability, look at Sony, Toshiba and Sharp in LCD and Panasonic in plasma (probably your best buy, dollar for dollar in this size). Stay away from cheap junk like Vizio. http://www.hdguru.com/your-new-disposabl...

They are made by Thomson. I have not owned an RCA set for a while but from what I have read their quality is questionable.
