Question:

What about Stanza for a baby name?

I am trying to think of unique (meaning not in the top 150 popular names list) names to name a girl. I am a fan of Lana right now but both my husband and I really love music. I like more classical (I sing opera) and my husband likes anything from classic rock, to beatles, to Bob Dylan. I had a friend back in the day named Stanza and I just came across this name again. What are your thoughts. Would people think it's too weird and she would get picked on?

  1. isnt stanza a line in a poem? i dont think its to nice sorry but hey if you like it then go for it. my daughters name is codi-ann and everyone told me it was boys name. she is your child and you'll love her no matter what her name is :)

  2. I think she would get made fun of. It just seems to cross the line. If you'd like unique musical names try:

    Harmony

    Choral

    Viola

    Cadence

    Hope this helped. :o)

  3. I don't like Stanza for a name. I like Lana much better. Good luck Honey on your sweet angel whatever you name her.

  4. I'm not fond of Stanza, but Lyric is very cute!

  5. I don't like Stanza but i really like lana

  6. Stanza is awful!  What would her nickname be?  Stan?  Stan da man?  *shudder*  Go with Lana.  For the love of all things holy.

  7. Well, I guess you can keep the name in the fine arts:

    Stanza Cadence

Stanza:  a division in a poem

Cadence:  (in music)  the beat or measure of a set rhythm

I guess, just make sure she's a band kid so it can be an "in joke" since both are hysterically ridiculous.

  8. i don't think stanza is a good idea. lana is adorable though!

  9. I like Stanza but I kinda like Lana better. Good luck.

  10. One that was popular back in the 80's when my daughter was born, Rhiannon. (From Fleetwood Mac.) I named her Alexa after the Billy Joel song "Downeaster Alexa". and also his daughter's name is Alexa.

  11. that was the name of an old Nissan compact car. It'd be better if you named him Zed. I went to school with a friend named Z.

jk about naming her that. but true story about my friend.

  12. OMG..I dont like Stanza at all.

    Cora is much nicer..

  13. for the meaning that you have, stanza is nice.  but when i hear Stanza, i hear "george kastanza" and that's not a good analogy for a baby girl.  if anything, it sounds masculine to me.  what about something like Aria?
