There is a monologue from the Fantasticks by ISa

---This morning a bird woke me up. it was a lark or a peacock. Or something like that......

people say it is a cursed monologue and that people who audition with this monologue don't get excepted and that people always say not to do that monologue. i was just wondering why and what is wong with this monologue?

  3. I don't know much about acting, but I do know a lot about auditioning, especially when it comes to musicians. Usually people don't get accepted if they play a piece that's too difficult for them, even though they did venture out of their comfort zone to try something more difficult. This may be what's happening with this monologue. It may be a historically difficult monologue to master, so people shy away from it. It may be best to go for something you're confident with instead of something that is known to be a problem.
