  1. Well, eating fish and chicken means that you're not a vegetarian.  Being vegetarian means that you're not eating anything that involves killing an animal or wearing leather (because an animal was killed to make it), among other things.

I'm not sure why your mother would be against if if you want to eat chicken and fish exclusively, since those are the healthiest meats anyway.  Eating beef every day is bad for you and you shouldn't do it at all.

    I say go for it.

P.S. I just re-read your question.  I think your mom might want you to eat red meat because you're low in iron and beef is the quickest way to give yourself a boost.  Tell your mom that you're aware of your iron deficiency, but that you really are trying to be healthy so you will continue to eat only fish and chicken and take your iron pills.  That should work!

  2. If you feel that a vegetarian diet would benefit you, then do it. I took alot of c**p from my mom when I decided to go veggie, and im 27 LOL. So do what you feel would make you healthier.

  3. i think she is saying that if she went veg*n that it would be easy to say no to beef but it would be hard to stay away from chicken and fish. anyways, my parents didn't want me to do it either but since i had a job i bought my own food and just did it. they respect my choice now. you're always going to have someone criticize you for not eating meat but you have to be confident in your decision and take the high road when people want to be rude.

  4. eat chicken and fish. it's much healthier than beef anyway. you still get all the protein you need.
