  1. Zebra Danio

    Golden Barb

    Cardinal TetraAlgae Eaters:

Siamese Algae Eater + Amano Shrimp

    Otonocilus + Amano ShrimpPaired Fish:

    Dwarf Gourami

    Angel Fish

    German Blue Rams

  2. More or less any - betta are ok with anything that doesn't resemble them. It's best to stay away from long, fancy fins, and killifish. Some species of tetra (black widows, and so forth) may nibble at the betta, given half a chance - but they'll do that to anything with long, trailing fins.

As for which I'd recommend - either harlequin rasbora (very peaceful, quite attractive, active, and good shoalers), or thread-fin rainbows (lovely looking little things, and very interesting when they display to each other).

  3. A lot of tetras would go with your betta, I think corydora catfish, or shrimp would be nice too.

Remember, do not put gouramis in with bettas, they are from the same family (anabantoids) and will fight!

  4. in my tank i have a betta and as tank mates i have a load of neons (roughly 15) 4 corydoras and a plec. all get on great never had a problem with them

  5. Any peaceful non-nippy fish without long flowing tails.  For shoaling fish I would recommend some of the more peaceful tetras such as neons, or a school of cherry barbs (not nippy like some of the other barbs)  or  if you have a large enough tank a shoal of cory cat fish.    Albino forms of some species or other light colored fish in particular contrast nicely with a dark or bright colored betta

  6. Get some goldfish. Since they both like around the same temperature (69-71). Don't get a fantail. Get a regular one that doesn't grow a big tail, the kind that grow long. I'm pretty sure they will by fine. If you don't like goldfish, get some kind of catfish. I like peppered catfish. A few ghost shrimp would be cool, too!
