-From 1 kg of ammonia I get about 2 m3 of hydrogen so hydrogen could cost less than 0.1 us$ per m3...

-If I use hydrogen fuel cells, 2 m3 of hydrogen are equivalent to 1 litre of diesel...

-ammonia from gas or from nuclear energy have these prices...

-Also ammonia from cheap WIND can have these prices...

Etc...

Am I wrong or correct?

Is market really free?...

Are taxes obstacolating free market?...

Are we really free?...

Etc...

  1. Hydrogen burns so hot that it will generate a lot of NO2. Also like U said there is tax to be paid.

         Good luck

  2. ammonia is $200/tonne in 2002, its closer to $600 today or $.6/kilogram. 1 kilo NH3 has .2 Kilos H2. thats I have to switch to engineering units here, 200 grams or .45 lbs.  .45 lbs has 25,000 BTU's.

since we price energy on MMBTU's (million BTU) in the US, it will take 40 kilos NH3  to get MMBTU so thats about $30.00 per MMBTU.

Natural gas is $10/MMBTU, gasoline is $25.00/MMBTU before taxes

    1 m^3 = 30 Feet^3, H2 has 300 BTU/ft^3, so thats 9000 BTUs.  It'll take 111 m^3 to get 1 MMBTU, so back then that works out to $11.1 /mmbtu.  In 2002 gas was $3.00/mmbtu and gasoline was $8.00 per mmbtu.
