What about incoming calls with Magic Jack?

I have Magic Jack and still not figured it all out. They seem to not have working help on their website. Can someone call me for free. I had to take a Missouri area code and I don't live in Missouri, I live in Nebraska. Will Nebraska incoming be charged more now? I know I can call out for free, but what about incoming calls not in my assigned area code. Help!

  1. do you have your MJ set-up on the admin account? if so....create a guest account...then go to the MJ website and click on magic-Fix!!

  2. Yes, if someonr calls you out of your number area, they will be charged for a long distance call. But if YOU make the call, it is free.!! MagicJack is a great idea, but still has a few bugs, and virtually no support.

  3. Magic Jack Support is kind of a joke at the moment.

Think of the Magic Jack like a normal phone in that when people call you from "out of town" they will be charged long distance UNLESS  they have unilimted nation wide calling on their cell phone, home phone, VOIP line (Vonage - Magic Jack - Skype), or unilimted nation wide calling on their land line phone.

    Hope that helps
