What about the Blues??

I am a diehard blues fan, and they are finally getting their fan base back, but it seems like the everlasting question is how long does it take to rebuild?? there are teams like the penguins, capitals and blackhawks that were only in the cellar for 2-3 years before they got numerous impact players through the draft. The blues have done well with their last few years draft, but i dont see their team stacking up with pittsburgh washington or chicago. they will have help with oshie, berglund and lars eller coming, and maybe pietrangelo, but i sadly do not see them matching up with other elite teams in their own division or in all of hockey. ThoughtS???

  1. The calibur of talent isn't there. When the Penguins were in the cellar they picked up stellar players in the draft like Brooks Orpik, Marc-Andre Fluery, Sidney Crosby, Jordan Staal, Evgeni Malkin, just to name a few. Sid and Malkin are two of the best 3 players in the world...those two alone could turn any team around. The blues will turn it around eventually, but don't look for it anytime soon. Their division hurts them a lot too. With detroit, who's always good, Chicago who is going to have a breakout season, and columbus who is getting better by the day. The blues have a long way to go, but you can never give up hope!

  2. First of all The Blackhawks were in the cellar for much more than 2-3 years, try10 years with one lucky fluke year when they got knocked out by the blues in the first round of the playoffs. The reason the Hawks weren't good was because their owner sucked and didn't get any good players because he didn't want to spend the money, s maybe the blues have the same problem. Another problem is possibly injuries or the fact that they really don't have that many good players. Paul Kariya isn't good anymore, Andy McDonald isn't good and they are paying them more than they deserve. The Blues probably have a few more years to go before being good again because for them to be good another team has to turn bad, but the problem is when you have teams like Detroit that stay good for a very long time teams that are bad have a harder time turning good. Who knows though the blues could have an awesome and unexpected season which would be even cooler because everybody loves an underdog. I do think that they will come in last in the central unfortunately and although the Hawks appear to be on the rise I am a little scared that Toews and Kane and Sharp just had a one year wonder because they don't have much other offense except for Martin Havlat but he is injured 90% of the time and who knows if they will trade him or not.

  3. I haven't seen any improvement, Paul Kariya was a flop.  I'm not sure how long it will take.  They're definitely going to be at the bottom of the central with CBJ this season.
