  1. Georgia – aggressor! Georgia at the beginning of the war. CNN, BBC - lie. Night georgia killed 2 000 peaceful sleeping residents. Saakashvili - a war criminal! Do not believe CNN and BBC. Tell the truth all people! Russia does not want war! The U.S. wants oil!

  2. Like all conflicts on this planet, you will find that it is either the Europeans or Yanks who started them.  For some reasons they can't simply sit tight and mind their own business.

When they get refugees from these war torn areas, they simply say it is not their problem.  Life is not important to the so called Christians who claims to all things human rights and all that non-sense.

  3. It should be a European-focused response obviously.  The US isn't really in a position to do much of anything.

The question is really, how far is Russia going to go with this?

"Ukraine, a former Soviet republic whose pro-Western government now wants membership of NATO and the European Union, had encouraged Georgia to carry out "ethnic cleansing" in South Ossetia, the Russian foreign ministry said."

Are they making preparations to retake what many see as once theirs now that they've been able to reconstitute their military with oil revenues?

  4. Just to clarify a little: "South Ossetia, with a population of about 70,000, declared independence from Georgia in the early 1990s, but it was not internationally recognized. Many ethnic Ossetians feel close to Russia and have Russian passports and use its currency."

No, the war won't spread to Europe and the US should take care of its own problems.

  5. If we don't help Georgia, then the image we are showing in Iraq is for nothing.  We are the big brother of the world and if we let Georgia get taken over than we are nothing.  On the other hand, if we can handle the crisis effectively in Georgia, Iraq, and now our own Mexican border, than the world will remember that we are a sleeping lion and best not to be awoken.

  6. There's not much the USA can do except try to calm things down.

We're broke. Our army is broke.  We can't afford more military action, and there's an imbecile in the White House, remember?

There is ZERO support in the American population for supporting Georgia militarily. You can forget about that.

  7. Kazakhstan supports Russia so they might get into the mix. So since they actually "declared war" on Russia. We could call this the "conventional WW3" because nobody has the guts to launch a nuke cuz they will know that someone will knock it down or a nuclear holocaust will happen. And I pray to God that the U.S. doesn't get into this. That means the Military Draft Day!!!!

  8. i'm russian myself (sorry for mistakes in type). this war isn't right. but TV and newspapers lights it in wrong way! European and Russian TV have very different points of view. Understand one, not I'M, not YOU ALL can trust TV pictures. Trust your brains and heart. Just think more! When I'v heard, that russians killing in Georgia simple folk, i can't truly believe that!! We are not this mosters, that EU TV image us!

But I won't say that russian news are true in fact. I don't know what really happen in Georgia. AND WE ALL CAN'T KNOW FOR SURE. There are dirty f*cking games of political b******s of Georgia, US and also Russia...

  9. Now is not the time for the dems to take office and take us back to ground zero not having military capability.  Clinton left us militarily handicapped.

  10. I think that the US should stay out of it and stop policing the world.  The US shouldn't have to get involved in very dispute between two countries. Who made them the police of the world. and right now they have their own problems at home. and they should focus on fixing their counrty and Iraq and Afghanistan. they already have thier plate full

  11. I think NATO troops will end up helping out once things calm down.  I don't think this little battle is going to solve anything.  South Ossetia will still be a part of Georgia when all is said and done.  The US doesn't really need to do anything as Russia won't be able to accomplish much.  I think the EU will step in in a few weeks once the intial war-happy stuff is over and rebuilding/security takes place.

Be careful, Jurij-EU is throwing a bunch of c**p into the mix. The US did NOT start this war and don't really have much to do about it. It's not anything close to a genocide going on there. BOTH sides have killed peacekeepers in the area, not just the Georgians. Be careful what you believe from this person, it is nothing more then anti-American propaganda and is trying to sell them self as knowledgable when they live in the Ukraine, have no borders with Georgia, and were once a part of Russia.
