What about the United Nations?

Do you think they serve any purpose at all? What have they done? What are they doing? With everything going on in the world, what is their impact? I know, long question with a lot of parts so let me summarize:

Is the UN good for anything? If so, what?

The UN is an impotent, do nothing, corrupt, Anti-American organization and if the US has any sense it would pull out of the UN, cut their funding and tell them to find another home outside the United States.

What are they good for? Stealing, see the  Oil for Food Scandal.

I think they generally do a pretty good job of relief services but that's about all they are good for.

absolutely not, its turning into another league of nations in the beginning of the 20th century.  the founding fathers would be rolling in their graves if they knew we were in it, because the constitution is against alliances it only says to have commerce with other nations

if you read about all their  "sub-agencies" like World Food Program, UNESCO, UNICEF, etc. you will find out that they have been very helpful to other countries. nowadays, IAEA is doing a very good job.

The UN is getting weaker and weaker because of the very big difference of Iraq and Iran between U.S and Europe. It is getting better now as the Europeans are beginning to approve war on Iran. they couldn't  fix Darfur but the NATO is better than the UN

The UN is an organization trying to keep peace in the world. Let us thank the founders. the UN is also trying to help the hungry and the sick. They help when nature is playing up either with quakes or floods, fires and all the lot. May be in the future armies are going to be reduced and all the peace keeping is handled by the UN. Let us thank them for being there........................
