What about the spray during flights from South Korea to Europe?

Last year, I flew with Air France from Seoul/South Korea to Paris/France and after the aircraft was started, the crew walked through the cabin with some strange mango-taste-smelling spray. They told us, this was for security reason and korean law. I just remembered that yesterday and I'm still confused, what kind of spray that way?

  1. I have not seen that type of crop-dusting in a while. It's pesticide/insecticide, especially used when departing from  tropical/warmer climate countries. Theoretically, it should kill any bugs that were trapped inside the cabin after the doors were closed prior to take off.

Whether it is healthy for the people on board or not, I cannot say with accuracy.

  2. The spray is to kill off any creepy crawlies that may have entered the aircraft before departure.

They are no more welcome as illegal immigrants than anyone else.
