What about these pyramid shaped tea bags?

Question

Someone gave me tea in these very cool silky tea bags. I didn't think too much about it until the other day when I started wondering what the bags were actually made of...turns out they're a "food-grade" nylon.

So I wonder exactly what kind of impact these new bags have on the environment from production through disposal.

No doubt the paper ones had issues, I'm just curious about these imparticular.

Anyone?

That tea is REALLY good and REALLY expensive. Unless you buy a lot of it, I don't see it having a big impact.

If you want something that is totally earth friendly get an infuser. you just put loose tea in a little metal basket and you reuse it. As far as those little nylon bags go, they are just more plastic in landfills.

I love them!! You can get like 3 glasses of tea out of one and they make for great presentation!!
