We just painted our living room, dining room, hallway and bedroom Trenchcoat Khaki from the Kilz line of paints at walmart. I need an accent color to go with it. It's a gorgous color and am having trouble picking a color for my kitchen cabinets.

  1. That would be really dependant on what other colors you have now in the area.  Do you want to bring a special color or shade to the forefront from somewhere else ?  Do you want to counter play against another color in the area ?  Or do you just want a neutral compliment to the khaki ?

My kitchen walls are a khaki color as well, my cabinet frames are three shades darker than my walls, and the cabinet doors and drawer fronts are golden topaz from Behr.  Nice and netural but it accents some very old stained glass window panels I have ( shades of blues and rose mainly ), as well as my handcrafted cobalt blue dishes.  The colors also go well with my floor tile and appliances which are stainless steel.

Sorry to not have been more help.

  2. I looked up Trenchcoat Khaki on myperfectcolor.com & it is quite nice. I can see how it might be hard to choose a cabinet b/c you don't want the wood stain to clash with the brown.

For the cabinets, you might consider a painted cream like this:

Or you could go very dark brown or black:
