Out of the options given it would have to be electricity, it allowed for such widespread centralised civilisation.

However, i if i had to choose my own option it would be antibacterial soap.

Gotta be electricity.  The internet, telephones, and TV all rely on it.  If the automobile wasn't bundled with the steam engine, I might have gone steam, but then only because it can generate electricity.   The airplane is obviously important, but doesn't shape life on a daily basis.  Efficient and clean electrical generation is the only way we can avoid making ourselves extinct.
