What account does ebay take the $2 listing fee from?

I listed my first ebay item online. I signed up for a paypal account using my checking account. Ebay said it was charging me a $2 listing fee for my item, but there is nothing on my checking account statement that say it took out $2. Where did they take the $2 from? Do they take the money out of my $0 paypal balance...meaning I have -$2?

They help themselves to your PayPal account.

they won't deduct the fees you ring up in the month of August until around Sept 20th - they don't deduct the fees right away - only once per month for the full prior month's activity - listing fees - final selling price commissions, etc - they will take it from your checking account, not your paypal acct
