Question:

What action can I press for discrimination in the workplace?

I recently quit a job due to being ridiculed, bullied, lied about, gossipped about, having rude, racial comments made about, among other issues. The trainer (I was still in training) did not go through the correct channels, apparently when I was complaining. HR was mad. I hated to quit, and am now jobless. I wrote the EEOC, and the corporate offices of the company, but nothing happened.

  1. Nothing you mentioned is considered discrimination.

Discrimination refers to being passed over for employment (and other things) due to race. It sounds like you got the job, but quit.

You don't say who ridiculed, bullied, lied about you, etc. You left out too much information to determine the validity of your complaint.

  2. Don't be so sue happy! Get over it and find a new job!

  3. If the EEOC was not interested in your case, you might not have one. Do you have any proof that you were being ridiculed, bullied, lied about, gossiped about, etc.?

Did you give management a chance to correct the situation, or did you just quit?

You have to follow the proper channels if you want to take legal action against someone or some company. You have to prove your case because some people would just abuse the law and file a lawsuit when nothing actually happened.

You're lucky to be rid of the place. Find a new job and find happiness.

    .

  4. The best revenge is dusting yourself off and walking away a winner.

And thats what you are dear.  You will get a better job.  I promice.

  5. I don't know where you worked but if nothing happened after all of that I would make some phone calls.  They don't care about letters as much as when they see you start taking action. Do what you can - help it to not happen to the next person that works there.
