What activities can a fourteen year old American girl do in Ireland?

I'm going to Ireland in a few months, and I wanted to know if there's anything that I can do there other than go on tour guides. Any suggestions?

While you might not want a boring, traditional Ireland walking tour, there are some great independent Ireland tour guides who can who you around and tailor the experience to what you want to do (much safer and going around on your own!) So. if you want to shop, see the sights, find out where other girls your age hang out, it could be a good solution.

as long as you have adult supervision you can do almost anything.  i dont want to sound patronising but ireland may be the land of saints and scholars but its not 100 percent safe for a young girl to go to on her own.  depending on where you go be it dublin county down or mayo theres a whole plethora of things to do. horse riding donkey riding painting photography hill walking.  any spare time i get i go to county down and photograph seals.  we have dolphins sometimes whales and lots of seals. if your going up north in august in belfast we have the west belfast festival.  but overall we have the same things you have in the states.  you name it you can do it here.  hunting fishing rock concerts go karting ice skating 10 pin bowling sky diving.  only difference is theres no cougars or bears and its  freezin.

Sports activities, walking, cycling, meeting friends, cinema, music activities ... if you're staying with a family in a more urban area, there are loads of things to do. Look up GAA for Irish sports and Comhaltas for Irish music activities.
