  1. For activities you could let the kids do a picture of a sombrero, let them color and decorate it. Just something fun like that.

For foods you could get incheladas, im not sure if that is the correct spelling but all they consist of is cheese, and tortilla bread. Just roll up the bread put some and cheese on it.

  2. The activities would depend on how old the children are, and whether you are focusing on Spanish language activities, or a specific culture. However, some activities you could do would be to learn a song they already know in Spanish--you can look at your local library to see if there are biligual music tapes there--one song I used to teach my class was "1 little, 2 little, 3 little indians"  in both Spanish and English. That song can be changed to be anything--instead of indians you could sing about birds or bears or whatever.

If you are studying a specific country where Spanish is spoken, you could look at the flag, do a coloring page of the flag, and read a book about the people in that country, what they eat, how they live, etc. There are entire collections of books that talk about children in different cultures of the world and how they live.  You can also find information on different Spanish games.  The website www.enchantedlearning.com has an entire section on Spanish activities, including a picture dictionary for each child to color.

As far as food goes, it depends on if you are studying a specific country. Churros, leche cake, and rice pudding are all Spanish dishes that children might like, but you could also serve mini tacos, rice, and refried beans for a Mexican lunch. And all the other Spanish speaking countries have their own foods as well. Wikipedia has great information about those foods.

  3. This is my favorite Preschool site.  Here you will find recipes, crafts, songs, etc. for many countries.

Hope this helps!  Have fun!  I like Susie's answer, too!

  4. Put all the alphabet and maybe 1-10 numbers in spanish, in a basket and have kids pull one out and ask how to identify and say it in Spanish. Sounds like fun to me. Foods- grocery stores have all kinds of cookies labeled in Spanish. Maybe thats a idea.
