What activity could i do with the children aged 2-3 in a nursery?

i need to cover the following things:

*encourage the children to be aware of their bodies and to protect themselves.

*encourage children to develop good personal hygeine practices

*encourage childrens to be aware of personal safety and the safety of others .

Maybe a beach activity---can make a display, set up a role play beach etc...then use these to talk about issues:

1) sun cream, sun hats..esp now we have real sun!!!

2) shower after beach to get clean, encourgae children to wash hands after sand to stop spread of mess and germs.

3) stay with an adult, never go into sea alone, wear arm bands etc

Road Safety-hold a bike/trike ride in the playground

1) bike helmet, bright clothes, exercise.

2) maybe clean a cut if they fall off-pretend on doll!

3) lights on bike, stay with adult, hat again etc

using the toys in the nursery you can get them to play household chores. If you make a game out of it they will enjoy copying adults and can learn about household safety and hygiene at the same time.

Putting on coats, hats mittens for going out in cold weather. Use umbrellas and rain boots for rain. Put on sun screen in the summer.

Wash hands with lots of soap and sing happy Birthday before they rinse their hands.

Walk don't run in the halls, only one person on the slide at a time, keep your hands to yourself.

* take them on a safety road thing with safety jackets , make them, stop at the kirb , listern , look , and then walk safely across the road. ( thats what i did in my nursery)

*let them have an activity like digging in the garden or sumthing and then tell them to wash their hands and teach them how to wash their hands in the correct way.

* pair the children up and let them help eachother such as:

let 1 person walk across a bench holding the other persons hand .
