  1. There are many different sub-fields of anthropology. They range from interpretive narrative archaeology to sociolinguistics to forensic anthropology.

  2. Some people confuse anthropology with archeology or the study of evolution. Anthropology however is very broad.  It is generally the systematic study of the social and cultural behavior of society past as well as present. This is too seem general to illuminate what anthropology is. Michael Angrosino, a well reputed anthropologist described the field as "the study of human behavior in all places and at all times. it combines humanistic, scientific, biological, historical, psychologically and social views of humanity."  Anthropology makes utmost sense if we consider its branches, such as, biological, sociocultural, archaeological, and linguistic. It is often called the four field discipline in the US while the UK anthropology focuses, to a degree on the social dimension .  There are a number of books with, "What is".  I think Eriksen's book, "what is anthropology?" (2004) does a good job of explaining the subject matter in a few pages. I hope this helps.

  3. anthropology is the study of different cultures across the world. Anthropologists also study the evolvment of the human race

  4. You go and set up a tent next to a village in some jungle somewhere, and ask the villagers lots of questions about their sexual habits and things.

  5. It is the study of humans.  It studies different cultures and physical anthropology studies biological aspects of humans.  Like forensic stuff you see on tv.

  6. The study of human kind through all times and places.
