  1. I jjust went to the US in march and brought my GHD and used a regular UK-US adapter bought at the airport. Worked fine.

  2. If they are the new generation straighteners they have a dual voltage switch. If not and mine weren't they will still work with a normal adaptor but they will not get as hot.

  3. you need a travel adapter you can get them from larger boots shops.

  4. UK = 240V 50Hz

    US = 110V 60Hz.

    Don't bother taking them.

  5. Use a simple plug adaptor, available at airports.

  6. If you get a chance try a shop rather than relying on airport as when I was going to New York last Nov they had no adapters at the airport. U lucky thing. Have a great hol.

  7. GHD's don't work in america the volatge is too low! Only the brand new ones work in america and even they are'nt garenteed to!! If you do have the new ones then you'll just need an enlish to american converter plug whihc you can pick up at the airport. I had the same problem i'm going to america in 2 weeks and i realised my GHD's wouldn't work i nearlu had a panic attack (my hair is just unattainable without GHD's) but i bought some new ones so i'm good, i hope!
