OK here goes:  In the first place, if you're really serious about growing fruit, you should forget about planting seeds.  Go to a nursery and buy good fruit trees from them.  They will also be able to give you advice on planting the tree, fertilizing, pruning and spraying.  These are all things you will need to do in order to produce good fruit.  All good fruit trees are grafted.  That means that the top of the plant is slightly different than the root part.  This is done by experts and insures that the tree will produce good fruit but will also have a good root system.  All fruit you buy is hybred and the seed will usually not produce the same quality of fruit as it came from.
