I am a 42-year-old male who has a bi-annual (more or less) physical scheduled at Kaiser Permanente in a month. I am going to request a complete heart checkup, including stress test, while I am there. I am also going to request a vitamin D test to measure my levels. What other tests are not standard, but can be done on request, which I should ask for? Which are free and which will cost me more (or at least a follow-up appointment)?

  1. You need to get a PSA test also your prostate checked it maybe uncomfortable but it needs to be done.

  2. I think this varies from state to state. A complete blood work exam at least once is recommended. I believe your prostate is included in this. Have them check your PSA levels. Maybe you can write down your concerns and talk them out with your doctor, they will suggest something. I kn ow not much about costs as I do not know what state you live in. It varies depending on your location. A full  physical and then you can keep it basic.

  3. prostate exam, colonoscopy, sperm count,etc....
