I just bought a Miata MX5 with only 6,000 miles on it. It's been garaged and not driven much (obviously). Is there something I should add once to gas tank to kind of clean things out on the inside? What would that be called? Thanks.

  1. DO NOT use Redex - this will annihilate the catalytic converter.

Put some carburretor cleaner into the fuel tank & that should do the trick. Good luck. h

  2. use a few tanks of premium fuel, this has cleaning agents in it.

  3. If your local car shop has Redex on the shelf buy this.

If you car is carburetor/s take the air filter of, run the engine, get some rev's on a pour the redex into the top entry of the carb. Cleans a treat, smokes a lot whilst doing it.

If you on injectors, put the redex in the fuel tank.

  4. You can go to an automotive store and buy a fuel additive called "fuel injector cleaner" or "petrol treatment" this will clean the carbon build up from the inside of your motor, if your unsure there will be instructions and description on the bottles.
