  1. Lefties are typically more creative than right handers.  That's because the right side of the brain (which controls your left hand) is responsible for creative thought.  Lefties also tend to have an advantage in certain sports.  Left handed baseball players are a premium because they have an advantage batting against right handed pitchers.   Left handed boxers have an advantage as well, because they boxing stance is reversed and therefore unfamiliar to a right handed opponent.

Still, lefties live in a right handed world.  Ink smears on their hand when they write.   They can't write all the way to the edge of  a notepad without hitting the spiral.  Just about every product out there is made for righties.  As a result, lefties have a slightly lower average life span than righties!

  2. Being left-handed, the right half of the brain (art and languages) gets used more, which means lefties have a higher percentage of artistically talented people than the righties.

Disadvantages - the world is made for right-handed people, so many devices are right-handed-people friendly only, although they are slowly changing that.... (scissors, playing cards, guitars...)

  3. The biggest disadvantage is the world in mostly right handed and as such a lot of common devices are optimized for use by the right handed person.  Think about it even common item like scissors and measuring cups are designed for the convenience of the right handed population.  Also due to societal norms when you approach a computer where is the mouse?  If the mouse is contoured does it fit in the left hand?

This also leads to a common strength of the left handed person they are usually more adaptable, and have more ambidextrous tendancies form working and living with devices that require them to use there right hand,

  4. They have advantages? This is new

  5. spiral staircases in castle towers were desidned so right handers could atack someone coming up the tower easily while the attacker would have a harder time fighting. So if you're attacking a castle is an advantage to be left handed but sucks if you are defending one. Also Left handed people were burnt by christians during the witch burning years.

  6. They are unable to hold their c ock whilst walking up a spiral staircase

  7. Different.

  8. I grew up left handed and the ink smearing while writing was probably my biggest annoyance.  If you think about it though, most stuff you do requires both hands.  EX:  Whoever mentioned the computer mouse, your left hand is usually using the keyboard, or drinking a beer.  On that note though, I drink with my right hand normally, using a fork with my left hand(the 'proper' way)

I don't think there is any real advantages/disadvantages to either hand.

Oh, and I don't understand the measuring cup comment above......right handed, what?

    Peace.

  9. At one point, it would be lucky to be a left-handed person, for there is a belief that if you have no interrupted accidents (car accident, bike accident, plane incident, etc.) that left handed people live 9 years longer than right handed people. However, on the other hand, when left handed people write from left to right, there writing will get smudged.

  10. Because lefthanders are a minority most people consider them to be "brighter" than right handers :D

the disadvantages are that usually chairs with attached writing desks are made for the benefit of write handers and that comparatively there are less chairs of that kind made.but then that shouldn't matter since the number of lefthanders is anyway less compared to right handers so everybody gets a chair the're happy with in the end :D

  11. Only 4 percent of the world's population is left handed. But they include such stalwarts like Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Einstein, H G Wells, Charlie Chaplin, Germaine Geer, Julia Roberts, Drew Carey, Amitabh Bachchan, Natalie Cole etc.And do you know  that August 13 is Left Handed Day?

Scientists are still researching why some people are left handed. The scientific information that we had a few years ago was  this :-  the left or right lobes of the brain controls the body functions in the opposite side. So, for a left handed person, the right lobe is more active. And that part of the brain is associated with creativity. Therefore left handed people are more creative. However, latest research suggests why some people are left-handed. Researchers found that they lack a gene that makes most people right-handed. The gene causes one side of brain to become bigger than the other. But people without the gene have symmetrical brains. This leads to the left handed people to be more brainy and adaptive since communication between the two lobes are balanced. Researchers also found that many ambidextrous people start out left handed - proof of high adaptability capabilities of the left handers.

Disadvantage is not natural  - it's only created by man himself! This is simply because the world still remains a right-handed majority place and all most every things are made or done for their convenience. But don't worry, left handers are fast at adapting and being on par if not overtaking them!

  12. Left handers are normally more creative and artistic.

  13. Being a lefty, you learn to be more adaptive and the reason the life expectancy is rising is that a lefty would be burned to death in the middle ages. (left hand of power). Measuring cups are right handed, if they have a pour spout. Hole it in your right hand, where is the pour spout, pointing left so you can pour naturally inward. Try being a lefty, use your left hand predominently (or for more fun, tie your right arm behind your back or to your side)for a day. you won't believe how backwards the world will seem!

  14. Lol, that first dude is hilarious.

Anyhows, well, they're harder to box. Left handers are fewer and so it's hard to get experience fighting them. And so it's just harder.

  15. Since the right side of the brain controls the left hand, then consider that left-handed people are in their right mind.

I don't think there is much difference except that southpaws have a difficult time since most technology is geared to right handed people.  Example:  Watches:  The stem is on the right side and would be difficult to adjust without taking it off.

  16. It seems to me that most of the left handed people I know have really sloppy and ugly handwriting.

  17. left handed people are right-brain oriented people, and right handed

people are left -brain oriented, but there is not advantaged or disadvantaged, with any of them,if any would be then for the right handed, basically because left handed people turn out

to learn how to use their right hand too, then they use both sides of the brain, making them ambidextrous

  18. The only serious advantage of left over right handed people, is the velocity for mathematical and arithmetical calculations.

No other important has been seriuly derscribed appart from that.

  19. Uniqueness?

  20. in rounder lefties find it easier to hit the ball to the right, which sends it flying past first base, into first deep, which is the furthest away from 4th base. so they have a higher chance of getting a rounder. whereas right handers are more likely to hit the ball left to 4th deep, which is closest to 4th base, so they are more likely to get stumped out.

whenever a left hander comes up to bat the bowler will shout leftie and all the deep feilders will shift round.

  21. Cant protect themselves
