  1. The advantages of AC power are that it is readily available, most appliances run on it, and it can be easily stepped up or down as neccessary. The disadvantages include large line losses, and if you come in contact with it, it continues to shock you.

The advantages of DC power are that it has minimal line losses and can be transmitted long distances. The disadvantages are that our electrical systems are set up for AC power and the only way to run something on DC power is to convert the power from AC to DC with a transformer.

  2. the advantages of using AC is that it can be step up and step down according to the required voltage. AC also can be converted to Direct Current

  3. Ac has an advantage in that it is easily produced, can be srepped up to high voltages for easy transmission over great distances with low loss and can be converted to DC easily.

  4. main use of ac is that it can be step downed or steped up using transformer but it cannot not be done in the case of dc
