  1. There's no swirly, hazy, quivery, cloudy atmosphere.

  2. earth's atmosphere interferes with the view of telescope.

sometimes the telescope shows images which are blurry even in a clear sky.

hubble telescope is in space so there is no inteference of earth's atmosphere. so the images taken are very clear.

because hubble telescope is in space, it can capture more light from distant object which is not possible by ground based telescopes.

  3. the hubble telescope doesn't have to look through the earths atmosphere and pollution. In space the clarity of vision is excellent and the pictures it takes are more clear and vibrant.

  4. The hubble space telescopes in space, ground based ones are on earth....the hubble space telescope is in a much better postion and it is closer to the things it is photographing.

    Hope it helps...

  5. It is above the atmosphere, so it doesn't suffer from cloud obscuring the sky and from atmospheric distortion. As long as it is pointing away from the Sun it is always pointing at a dark sky, so it gets round two inherent limitations of ground based telescopic observation: that the thing you are looking at will either set below the horizon or else be lost in daylight after a few hours.

  6. Hubble Advantage: Here’s one: As light goes from one medium into another medium of a different density the light gets bent, i.e. refracts. You can verify this by looking at a person’s feet in a swimming pool (air to water), or the results from light going through a prism (air to glass).  That difference in density causes legs to shrink, light to create a rainbow, and other distortions.

Another Hubble Advantage: Heat! Heat can have a major affect on the medium that light passes through. Such is related to the above; it often creates mirages; lakes in the distance in a desert, or ahead on the highway.

Hubble, by being beyond the distortions of earth’s atmosphere avoids the density of the medium, and temperature changes, and sees a  more realistic, undistorted image.

And, finally another reason: No gravitational effect to "warp" the receiving lens, dish, etc.

  7. No atmospheric interference. No intervening cloud cover. Less temperature fluctuations. No birds pooping on the mirror.
